Are 10x12 plates medium or large?
10 x 12" is closest to a Medium SAPI or Large Swimmer cut, so most vests designed to these sizes will fit a 10x12" plate.
The most common armor plates' size is 10x12 and it should be enough to cover vital organs for more than 80% of the population. However, it is better to make a couple of quick measurements to determine what plates are best for you.

Plate size does have an effect on the amount of food we eat and satiety. Swapping to smaller plates can have a positive influence over portion sizes and satiety.
Plate Carrier Sizing
They made this request for good reason. According to the TRADOC representatives with whom we were working at the time, 80% of the armor plates purchased by the US Department of Defense are size medium ESAPI armor plates or 9.5" x 12.5".
The majority of armor plates are based on the US Military's medium-sized SAPI plate, which measures 9.5”W x 12.5”H.
How do you choose a carrier size?
Size Matters
Cats should be able to stand, sit and turn around in their carrier. Generally a carrier should be one and a half times the size of your cat. If the carrier is too big it can be uncomfortable trying to balance and carry the carrier without having your cat slide from one side to another.
What dress size is a 'Medium'? This varies from brand to brand and by country. Some stores will consider a medium to be a size 10, while others a size 12-14. As an average, a Medium is likely to be a around a size 12.

Some departments may designate a size 12 as plus-size while others use a size 14. But according to Modeling Wisdom, plus-size models often fall into the range of sizes 8 to 12. Sometimes, even a size 6 can be considered.
M means medium, which translates roughly to women's size 8 to 10.
The evidence is that the larger plate you eat from, the more food you serve on it and the more you serve, the more you eat. Simple but true. I recommend a 10 inch or 25cm diameter dinner plate and our plates are designed to demonstrate two distinct portion sizes on the one plate.

Appetizer plates are much smaller than dinner and lunch plates and are to be used for hors d'oeuvres, tapas, and snacks. They typically measure five inches across and come in various shapes to make them a fun option.

What size dinner plate to lose weight?
Since people tend to fill their plates and eat what's on them, bigger plates mean more calories are consumed, which can lead to weight gain. Choosing a 9-inch plate (recommended by the plate diet) over a 12-inch one reduces the surface area by 44% and helps you reduce your caloric intake to support weight loss.

Plate sizes

The most important thing is to measure your plate correctly and accurately. In order to do that, you'll need a tape measure, and a flat surface to lay your plate on. Lay your plate flat on the surface, and stretch your tape measure across the center of your plate.
Medium Armor offers more Protection than Light Armor, but it also impairs Movement more. If you wear Medium Armor, you add your Dexterity modifier, to a maximum of +2, to the base number from your armor type to determine your Armor Class.

A: The Medium JPC should fit medium sized SAPI plates which are 9½ x 12½ in. The large will fit the large SAPIs which should be 10⅛ x 13¼ in.
When standing, the top plate edge should rest at the level of the jugular notch (the soft spot right above the sternum). Bottom of the plate edge should extend to approximately 4.5 inches above your service belt insuring protection of vital organs and vessels. The plate should fit comfortably when standing or sitting.
Thankfully, most plate carriers are a standard “one size fits most,” and 10x12 armor is considered a standard for the same reason.
On an Olympic-sized plate, the diameter is 50mm to properly fit over a 50mm Olympic-sized barbell. However, on a standard weight plate, the center hole diameter is only 25mm, meaning it will only fit a standard barbell, which is also only 25mm.
